Currently rehearsing for a production of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. Playing Varya. Having a fantastic time.
“Directed by Joao Garcia Miguel.
Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard is a beautiful and inspiring text about the end of something and at the same time the beginning.
Madame Ranevskaya is a spoiled aging aristocratic lady, who returns from a trip to Paris to face the loss of her magnificent Cherry Orchard estate after a default on the mortgage. In denial, she continues living in the past, deluding herself and her family, while the beautiful cherry trees are being axed down by the re-possessor Lopakhin, her former serf, who has his own agenda.
This production has been produced as part of Aberystwyth Arts Centre’s Professional Development Project which has involved the company being in residence for a period of 6 weeks. The production
